What does YOUR dream bathroom look like? Print E-mail

It looks like there are quite a few readers who come backweek after week to read my blogs - thank you! I would love for this blog to be more interactive, and am here to answerany questions you might have about your renovation project.

I thought I would tell you a little more about myself bydescribing my dream bathroom.  I tend to like very traditional design – my furniture is all classic traditional and Victorian (think your mom or grandma’sold wing chair and carved wood console circa 1920).  While my dream bathroom would fit into thistheme, it would have to have all of the modern conveniences as well as a fewstraight, clean lines.  So what is on mywish list, you ask?

  • First and foremost, I would have to have radiant heat under my floor tiles.  There is nothing I hate more than getting up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night in December and freezing my tootsies.
  • Along the same line, I would have to have a heated toilet seat.  If my feet are going to be warm and cozy my behind should be as well!
  • In my dream bath I would also have a separate tub and shower.  I am a huge bath fan and try to take them as much as possible.  My tub would be built for two, and would be an airbath rather than a whirlpool (personal preference).  My favorite one right now is the new Kohler Underscore™.  While it is not my standard traditional style, it can be mounted under a beautiful slab of marble.  I like the simplicity and clean lines of the tub, and it is available as an Experience BubbleMassage, which not only has 122 airjets, but has control zones that allow me to control the massage location (I can choose from three zones, my head, midsection and feet.)
  • The shower would have Kohler’s DTV II, where I can control the water temperature, steam, lighting and music all from one interface.
  • My favorite faucet is Rohl’s A1808XM.  I would use this, as well as the matching tub filler, in either satin or polished nickel.
  • A product that I would not want to live without is Robern’s Fairhaven full-length single door cabinet.  Not only does it give you a full length mirror, but it gives
  • you a tremendous amount of storage, electrical outlets and a basket for your hair dryer.  The mirrors on the inside allow you to keep the door open when using the products you keep inside.
  • The vanity area is the hardest.  There are so many beautiful options; I really do not know which one I would choose!

So what does YOUR dream bath look like?
